Well Planned Legal Documents

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 18 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Planned Legal Documents, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, retains, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the website located at wellplannedlegal.com, wellplannedlegaldocuments.com, and wellplanneddox.com and the related online services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Services”).

The Services provide self-service, customizable legal document templates that you may purchase, complete, and download for a fee. We are a document-preparation service. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and your use of the Services does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please review our Terms of Service and the disclaimers presented with each document for details about the nature of the Services.

By accessing or using the Services, or by providing information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Services.

Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to personal information we collect:

  • Through the Services;
  • In email, text, chat, and other electronic communications between you and us; and
  • Through your transactions and account activity on the Services.

This policy does not apply to information collected by any third party, including through any third-party application, payment processor, or website that may link to or be accessible from the Services. Those third parties handle your information under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

Children’s and Minors’ Data

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please do not use the Services or provide any information to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18 without appropriate consent, we will delete that information. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in the “Contact Us” section below.

The Personal Information We Collect

“Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked with a particular individual. The categories of personal information we collect or process include:

  • Account and contact information — such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and any username or password you create.
  • Order and transaction information — such as the documents or templates you purchase, order history, amounts paid, and records of downloads.
  • Payment information — such as billing details and payment-card information. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processors (Stripe). We do not store full payment-card numbers on our own systems; that information is collected and handled directly by the payment processor under its privacy policy.
  • Information you enter into documents — the Services allow you to input information (which may include names, addresses, family details, and similar personal information) to populate a template. This information is processed through our third-party document-assembly provider, Gavel, to generate your document, as described in the “Use of Information for Artificial Intelligence and Document Assembly” section below. [CONFIRM WHETHER, AND FOR HOW LONG, COMPLETED DOCUMENT CONTENT IS RETAINED IN USER ACCOUNTS OR ON YOUR OR GAVEL’S SYSTEMS, AND ENSURE THIS DESCRIPTION MATCHES YOUR ACTUAL CONFIGURATION AND YOUR AGREEMENT WITH GAVEL.]
  • Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support, respond to surveys, or otherwise communicate with us.
  • Device and usage information — such as your IP address, browser type and settings, operating system, device identifiers, and information about how you interact with the Services, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies as described below.
  • Marketing information — your preferences for receiving communications from us and your interactions with our marketing emails.

Sensitive Information

Depending on the document you choose to prepare, the information you enter may be considered sensitive under certain laws. We collect and use such information only as necessary to provide the Services you request.

Aggregated and De-identified Information

We may create aggregated or de-identified information that does not directly identify you — for example, statistics about how many users access a particular template. We may use and share this information without restriction. Where we maintain de-identified information, we will not attempt to re-identify it except as permitted by law.

How We Collect Your Information

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information directly from you when you create or update an account, purchase or download a document, enter information into a template, contact us for support, sign up for communications, or otherwise interact with the Services.

Information Collected Automatically

As you use the Services, we and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect device and usage information automatically. These technologies help us operate and secure the Services, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used, and improve them.

  • Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies or to alert you when cookies are sent; however, some parts of the Services may not function properly without them.
  • Analytics. We use analytics providers (Google Analytics) to help us understand and improve how the Services are used. These providers collect information such as pages viewed and time spent, and they process that information under their own privacy policies.
  • Web beacons. Our pages and emails may contain small electronic files that let us count users who have visited a page or opened an email and compile related statistics.

No Sale of Personal Information; No Targeted Advertising

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws. We use cookies and analytics only for the operational and measurement purposes described above.

How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide the Services, including creating and maintaining your account, delivering the documents and templates you purchase, and enabling downloads;
  • To process payments and deliver order confirmations, receipts, and renewal or expiration notices;
  • To provide customer support and respond to your questions, requests, and feedback;
  • To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Services, including troubleshooting, analyzing usage, and developing new features;
  • To send you administrative and transactional messages about your account, purchases, and changes to our terms or policies;
  • To send you marketing communications about our own products and services, where permitted by law and subject to your right to opt out (see “Your Choices” below);
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
  • To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements; and
  • For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time you provide the information or with your consent.

Use of Information for Artificial Intelligence and Document Assembly

We use a third-party document-assembly platform, Gavel (provided by Gavel, formerly Documate), to power the intake questionnaires and automated generation of the documents you create through the Services. Information you enter into a template is processed by Gavel on our behalf as our service provider in order to generate your document. We do not use your personal information or the content you enter into documents to train large language models or other artificial-intelligence models, and we do not sell or share that information for that purpose. Gavel likewise states that it does not use customer data or document content to train AI models, and that where AI features are used, document content is processed under zero-data-retention terms and is not used to train the underlying models. Gavel’s handling of your information is governed by its own privacy and security terms. [CONFIRM WITH GAVEL, AND PERIODICALLY RE-CONFIRM, THAT THESE REPRESENTATIONS REMAIN ACCURATE FOR THE SPECIFIC GAVEL PRODUCTS AND ANY AI FEATURES YOU ENABLE, AND ENSURE A DATA PROCESSING / SERVICE-PROVIDER AGREEMENT IS IN PLACE. IF YOU ENABLE ANY OPTIONAL AI FEATURE, CONFIRM WHETHER ITS PROCESSING MATCHES THIS DESCRIPTION.]

How We Disclose Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose the categories of personal information described above in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. To vendors and service providers who perform functions on our behalf — such as document assembly and generation (Gavel), website hosting (Hostinger, WordPress), payment processing (Stripe), analytics (Google Analytics), email delivery, customer support, and security — and who are contractually required to protect the information and use it only to provide services to us.
  • Business transfers. To a buyer or successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our assets, in which personal information is among the assets transferred.
  • Legal and safety. To comply with a court order, law, or legal process, or to respond to a lawful government or regulatory request; to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; and where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or others, or to detect and prevent fraud or security issues.
  • With your direction or consent. To others when you direct us to share your information or otherwise consent to the disclosure.

Your Choices

  • Marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us at info@wellplannedlegal.com. We may still send you non-promotional messages about your account or transactions.
  • Cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting; because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Services do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
  • Account information. You may review and update certain account information by logging into your account or by contacting us.

Your State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information under applicable state privacy law. The specific rights available to you, and the exceptions that apply, vary by state:

  • Right to access and portability — to confirm whether we process your personal information and to obtain a copy in a portable format where feasible;
  • Right to correct — to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you;
  • Right to delete — to request that we delete personal information we maintain about you, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Right to opt out — to opt out of the sale of your personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. As noted above, we do not sell personal information or engage in targeted advertising; and
  • Right to non-discrimination — to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the “Contact Us” section below. We will verify your request as required by law before responding, and we may need to confirm your identity. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request where permitted by law.

Some browsers and extensions support the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), which sends a signal indicating a preference to opt out of certain data processing. Where required by applicable law, we will treat a recognized GPC signal as a valid opt-out request to the extent it applies to our processing.

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for maintaining your own copies of any documents you download.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — including providing the Services, maintaining your account and order records, complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements — and as otherwise permitted or required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete, destroy, or de-identify it. [CONFIRM ANY SPECIFIC RETENTION PERIOD THAT APPLIES TO DOCUMENT CONTENT ENTERED BY USERS, AND WHETHER USERS CAN DELETE SAVED DOCUMENTS FROM THEIR ACCOUNTS.]

Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control, including our payment processors and analytics providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.

U.S.-Only Services

The Services are intended for users located in the United States. We make no representation that the Services or their content are appropriate or available for use outside the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and post the updated policy on the Services. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Services after the updated policy becomes effective means you accept the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
